Spring Birding is in your fingertip. You just need to know couple more steps to be successful on spring bird’s Photography.

1. Bird Migration days

Spring is the right time to meet plenty of species during migration.
It is suggested to be more focused during bird spotting since warblers are so fast and busy throughout the day. They collect foods to make long distance flight at night from one coast to another.
Try to use some proven online tool to get almost accurate data as per date and time and plan accordingly.

Best time to see them around early morning near water body with tall pine trees , bush  or just before the dusk when they try to top up with dinner.
Check weather and if is’ cloudy don’t get disappointed since this is the natural night filter for your birding.
If you are lucky enough you can have multiple species at a time.

2. Choosing Perfect Spot:
Warbler mostly like insects due to high protein rich food source.
Water body with bush, Natural Pond, Back side of a nature center since they feel that safe place , semi marsh area with semi tall tree . For begineer I suggest don’t expose yourself as soon as you see warbler since they are very shy and feel uncomfortable on sudden visit.

3. Choosing Gears : Nikon D-series with sigma 60mm-600mm lenses is the perfect combination and lightweight to play pick boo with birds. Try tripod with >10lb weight carrying capacity since stability is important to avoid blurry image.

4. Hand held pica boo shot vs Tripod shot

I usually prefer hand held photography since birds are always try to do something.
Tripod is recommended if you are going to the same place as birds can remember frequent visitor and they try to show up and try to do safe distance interaction.

5. Try to use local network
If you have just started birding and need more specific guidance please try get help from local birder in social media. Most of the time they can guide you the local birding spot.
